Hello!

My name is Herries, what’s your name? Haha, what an interesting and pleasant-sounding name, I assume. I can’t hear you.

I’m a writer (mostly) but also a filmmaker, comedian and just general-creative-person-guy.

If you recognise me at all…

…it’s either because you’re stalking me or (more likely) it’s from a seven-second video, ‘This Is A Teaspoon…’, which went viral in December 2025. The short racked up over 36 million views across TikTok and Instagram, was recreated by creators around the world, and was ‘liked’ by Markiplier and reposted by Charlie Puth (for some reason).

Since then, I have had a handful more viral videos and reached 70 million total views and 50,000 followers across platforms.

You can find my regular sketches as @herriesanderton on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

I’m also a professional writer…

…with credits for BBC Radio, short films and numerous spec scripts. For my screenwriting, I was longlisted for the Channel 4 New Writers Scheme 2025 (final 10% of over 2000 applicants) and I was a finalist for the International Emmys Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award 2020.

As a non-fiction writer, I have written across a variety of publications online and in print. You can read more about that here. As for fiction, my completed creative writing projects include a short story blog ‘Fragments From The Anax’ and a 100,000 word fantasy novel which combines twelve thousand fairy tales into a single narrative.

…with over a decade of experience in film and television production.

You can view my official credits on IMDb…

…but as for my uncredited roles, you’ll just have to take my word for it that I was part of the crew for (deep breath):
The Batman (2022), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), The Good Liar (2019), Mary Poppins Returns (2018), Dumbo (2019), Tomb Raider (2018), Electric Dreams (2017), Phantom Thread (2017), Peter Rabbit (2018), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), The Crown: Series 2 (2017), Darkest Hour (2017), The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018), Final Score (2018), Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) and Annihilation (2018) predominently working as a location, studio and/or sustainability assistant (though I didn’t work on Andor).

I also have a degree in Film and Television Production (BA, first-class hons, from the University of Westminster with an academic undergraduate scholarship) and on that course, I gained experience in various roles, but my primary specialisation was screenwriting.

And of course I have had the obligatory odd jobs…

…working as a bookseller for Waterstones, as a tour guide for the Warner Bros Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter and I briefly sold popcorn in a cinema.
You can see my full work experience on LinkedIn.

…And outside of all that my hobbies include painting, playing video games, designing board games and reading.

Alright, that’ll do for now, speak soon, love you, bye!
